Alpine Equine Extravaganza – A Weekend of Horses, Friendship & High Country Fun in Bright
The Alpine Equine Extravaganza is a celebration of everything equestrian, held in the stunning alpine town of Bright, Victoria. While the event is not currently scheduled as in past years, the Alpine Adult Riding Club (AARC) remains very active—offering regular riding opportunities, friendly events, and a strong sense of community for both riders and horse lovers alike.
For those who experienced the Extravaganza in earlier years, you’ll remember it as a vibrant, horse-filled weekend packed with riding, clinics, shopping, and good company. It featured everything from showjumping and working equitation to vet talks, navigation rides, and horsey fashion parades—all in a welcoming, non-competitive environment. Riders camped onsite with their horses, while spectators and non-riders enjoyed nearby accommodation in Bright.
Today, the spirit of that event lives on through AARC’s regular rallies and events, including its popular Dressage Jackpot, clinics, and trail rides. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or just love spending time in the saddle, this club offers something special.
A Supportive Club for All Riders
The Alpine Adult Riding Club, based at Pioneer Park in Bright, is a small but passionate community of riders. The club prides itself on its welcoming, inclusive nature. Riders of all experience levels and disciplines are encouraged to get involved, try something new, and enjoy their horses in a relaxed, low-pressure environment.
From flatwork and poles to jumping and trail riding, the club’s monthly rallies and events are designed to build confidence and connection—both between rider and horse and among members themselves.
Even if you’ve never competed before or are returning to riding after time away, this is a space where you’ll feel supported. New members and spectators are always welcome, whether you ride or not!
Upcoming Events: Dressage Jackpot – May 10, 2025
One of the club’s key annual events is the Dressage Jackpot, held at Pioneer Park. The next event is scheduled for May 10, 2025, with entries closing April 27. Riders can test their skills in multiple dressage levels, gain feedback, and enjoy a day of friendly competition.
